Clifford E. Haines, founder of Haines & Associates, is an expert in jury trials. He has been recognized as one of Pennsylvania's and Philadelphia's Top 100 Lawyers, and is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Also a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and the American College of Trial Lawyers, Mr. Haines has received the prestigious Roscoe Pound Foundation Award for Excellence in Teaching Trial Advocacy.
Prior to starting his own practice in 2004, Haines was a member of the Litvin, Blumberg, Matusow & Young law firm for 23 years, during which time he represented catastrophically injured people in malpractice and product liability suits. For nine years at the outset of his career, Haines was an assistant district attorney in Philadelphia, where he was chief of homicide and chief of hiring and training. Haines earned his J.D., cum laude, from the Ohio State University College of Law.
In addition to directing the Academy of Advocacy at Temple University Beasley School of Law, Haines teaches in Temple’s LL.M. in Trial Advocacy program; teaches continuing legal education courses; presents professional development seminars for practicing attorneys; and lectures for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. Haines was the 1997 chancellor of the 13,000-member Philadelphia Bar Association. Additionally, he has chaired numerous committees of the Philadelphia Bar Association, is a delegate to the American Bar Association, and was a member of the Board of Governors—and is now President—of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. |
